    Hi DavidJoacaRo,

When you connect the charger to the computer there should be a charging LED light showing if the charger is working fine. Please try another wall socket and check. Make sure that the charger is fitting properly to the port and no loose connection. If still no led light and not charging. Please do  battery reset to check.
Turn off computer by pressing and holding the power button for 5-6 seconds.
Turn around the computer and search for a very tiny pinhole in the bottom of the laptop. It has a battery symbol by the side of it. Ones you locate it take  a tiny paper clip or pin and press and hold it down for 30 seconds. Then connect the charger and see if the charger is charging. If still no change then please check with another charger.
Please let me know if this fixes issue.

If the problem persist after trying the @Kamalika suggestions. then go to device manager and check for battery drivers and uninstall the drivers for battery. Make sure the charger is plugged in while doing this. Post the uninstallation restart the unit.

Identical problem. Reset Battery worked twice previously, now no effect. Uninstalling battery drivers hasn't helped either

Sorry for the late response (2 years wth), I just bought a universal charger in January 2019. The original one just got broken and I couldn't find a new one so I bought a universal charger. Also when playing games I hear two beeps then both blue and red led's flashing and PC stop charging. I think it's from the battery...

This was an old thread.. to get your topic noticed i would recommend you to create a new topic..

regarding the battery issue. Please go to device manager and uninstall the battery drivers, Post that perform BIOS defaults and check the device performance and share the update..

@JWA1979 I cannot thank you enough for your contribution. I had this same problem on my laptop until now, I was about to spit out $60+ on a new battery and you saved both my day AND my wallet. THank you again

I have a Nitro 5 but does not charge while i’m using it and only charges while it’s off. I’ve tried updating the drivers, troubleshooting the battery, uninstall the drivers and still haven’t fixed the problem with it not charging while i’m using it

    Shyrra,

It looks like hardware issue. Contact acer tech support,

4 years after this issue, got solved by buying a new charger, apparently the old one stopped working, afaik my model an515-31 has only one fan sadly, it's stutterring sometimes while gaming it bleeps and stops charging. now it's just a rare scenario,

After trying all kind of possible solution to this $tvpid error, the problem with the battery not charging is basically that the allmighty and super powerfull engineers that made this laptop didn't thought that the charger won't be able to support the hardware if you increase the performance such as RAM, disk drive, etc. So they thought that a 135 W charger would be fine, wrong thing my friends, it requires 180 W, thanks for not taking that into account and force us to change the charger, to fix that you must get a 180W charger

This laptop can eat up to 180W?!

On MSI Afterburner, my cpu barely hits 11W while gaming (couldn't see GPU Watt counter)

Had a similar issue where out of the blue laptop would immediately die and wouldn't start if it wasn't plugged in.

I followed JWA's steps above EXCEPT instead of removing the battery. For that step I instead held the power button down for 60 seconds. Once I did this and booted it, everything works now!

Was gonna spend money on a new battery. What a save, thank you @JWA1979 !

My laptop model is AN515-55-57Y8 if that helps anybody.
