Hi all,

I have an Acer Swift SF314-51 (52PE) manufactured in Feb 2017. I had some issues with battery draining before and solved them with the battery reset button.

However, now my Swift 3 has been completley drained on battery, won't turn on and is not displaying any charging lights what so ever and nor will it charge.

Things I've tried:

Battery reset button
Buying new charger (clicking sound coming from MOBO area when plugged in, still no lights)

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you.

If you are out of warranty then you might as well open it up and take a close look at the DC-In cable that runs between the power jack and the motherboard.

Gave this a go but can't see any obvious falts with the connection. Will post pic.

The connector does seem to be making a clicking noise when plugged in with non acer supplied charger

Some of the third party chargers have a 1.35mm center hole, wile the stock one has a 1.1mm center hole. Those tend to be somewhat erratic because they don't get as good of pressure against the center electrode.

    Hi there guys,

Any solution to this. Having the exact same problem, down to the ticking sound on the MOBO. Opened it up and no obvious issues. Also using a non OEM charger, however, I had this issue with my OEM charger as well. Its just that now the pin reset doesn't work. Leaving the laptop plugged for some hours usually worked but now it's been a week and no luck.
