Spin 5 SP513-52N-55LV M.2 SSD NVMe Question...

Hello Everyone!

I've recently been looking at upgrading my M.2 drive in my new Spin 5 but I feel like I'm getting a lot of conflicting information! I've purchased the Samsung 970 EVO SSD which uses the same M.2 2280 with a NVMe PCIe. Acer CSRs have assured me that the drive is compatible with my model but I'm a bit skeptical given that the information regarding the comparability is so sparse. Would anyone happen to know if I would be able to use the 970 EVO as intended? Thanks a ton!

As some further additional information, it would appear that the physical port itself has the proper connectors, but I'm worried the software isn't going to allow me to move from SATA only drives. I've attached pictures of the port in hopes that it may assist in finding a solution!

Hi @Loyier, I am also curious if this worked for you. Did you go for the 1TB or 2TB drive? We appreciate your findings, thanks

    Hi,
Yes, at least one member reported a Samsung 960 Evo NVMe 1TB SSD working.

Hi, everyone. I'm just here for say you guys that my Spin 5 SP513-52N is not compatible with XPG S11 PRO.
I bought XPG S11 PRO 2TB and I can't install it because It doesn't fit in the rabbet for SSD M.2.

    Spec says: Solid state drive0
    • 256 / 512 GB, SATA 6Gb/s, PCIe Gen3 up to 4 lanes, NVMe
It looks like the drive you tried might be thicker than most with that heat sink. Is that the problem you found?
