Really anoying problem ... Can it has something to do with that the WiFi also doesn't wake up after hibernation (at least it comes on after a couple of minutes or so but the touchscreen is continuously dead) I believe there is something rotten buried in the energy settings and/or drivers. I have tried to solve it by updating as much as I can but no luck. Running Windows 10 Home 20H2, bios 1.06 etc.

Yup, a lot of that type of thing is put to sleep while down and not woken up immediately. They should wake up on their own after a bit, though a touch on the screen should speed it along.

Experiencing this same issue. Touchscreen unresponsive after waking from sleep or disconnecting from an external monitor. Tapping the screen, removing the pen, or starting a pen-related app does not solve the problem. Checked the device manager. HID touchscreen was enabled. Restart restores touchscreen functionality.

One thing that I find strange is that there seem to be no propriatary Wacom drivers on the laptop, the Microsoft HID touchscreen driver seems to be all way back from 2006-06-21. Re-installing the HID driver does not solve the hibernation issue either.

Edit: The Microsoft driver from 2006-06-21 seems to be generic for all the HID:s

I have the same issue and trying something out here. Looks ok so far. I will monitor a couple more days.
I force update Acer HID drivers from Device manager. (HID compliant touch screen > Update Driver > point to unzipped driver > Let me pick from list)
I also notice new BIOS and updated it anyways.

I have the same problem. Touchscreen only works just after a reboot. After wakeup from sleep or disconnect from screen, touchscreen does not work.

@EtienneP you should start your own thread with your question. You have a quite different model than what this thread is for. Include your full model number (something like SP3xx-xxx-xxxx), what you are seeing and what you have tried already.
