acer aspire A114-31 problem??

i've never had any real problems with this laptop before now.I haven't charged it in a week or two and it was on the charger for about 8 hours?When i press the power button its saying it's turning on but i don't hear the battery turning on or see the screen lighting up.Ive looked everywhere and everything says just take the batter out but there is no block for me to take out and i don't know what to do,i've had it for a couple years now and it's never done this before

    power drain: Just check the back of the unit, you can find a pin hole , unplug the charger and turn off the unit. now put a paper clip in the small pin hole and press and hold it for 30 sec.

    i just tried doing that at it seems to be doing the same thing,i even held it for longer and shorter durations.

    I am just following up in this problem, as mine Aspire doesn't turn on. The reset procedure described above doesn't work. Is there anything else I can try?
