I have this laptop and I am facing this 'dpc WATCHDOG violation' issue once every 2 days at startups ever since I bought this laptop. I tried every solutions to solve this and one of them was to update SSD firmware. The problem is that Kingston SSD manager does not show anything even if I run with administrator. It does not detect the SSD. In BIOS, AHCI mode is already set. Still it is not detecting Kingston SSD. Another software 'Crystal Disk info' detects the SSD, but I cannot update firmware from it.
How do I update SSD firmware? I think will only solve 'dpc WATCHDOG violation' error as many people said in as I searched the google. Please provide the solution for that and why Kingston SSD manager is not showing anything?

Have you checked the Kingston website to see if a firmware update is even available for your Kingston SSD model number?? Jack E/NJ

    >>>The kingston website write that the kingston ssd manager should be installed to check if the firmware update is available. >>>

So why don't you install it and see? It may solve the issue. Jack E/NJ

  • Press windows + r, type msconfig, go to system startup, activate safeboot and then restart windows. Then go to the device manager, select the driver for the sata raid or sata ahci controller and click UNINSTALL and select DELETE DRIVER. Then restart windows and check if the ssd appears on the KINGSTON SSD MANAGER.

Is this still happening only once every few days? Like I think I mentioned earlier, this occasionally happens with just about all my machines when booting Win10. No real consequences other than a Win10 annoyance. It doesn't seem to be a hardware issue but to related to Win10 because nothing similar happens when booting Linux. Jack E/NJ

I still don't think your machine has a serious disabling issue, just an occasional annoyance likely due to software drivers that will eventually be addressed by future updates.  Jack E/NJ

  • Try to check for a newer driver with driverbooster and then check if the problem still occurs.
