So I recently tried upgrading my CPU from and I5 7400 to a I7 7700 and from what ive read I should of been able to have just slot it in no problems but the thing is, the CPU is being rejected by the system despite the BIOS being completely up to date (R02-B2). The system gives off a long continuos beep upon installation but works fine with the old CPU (I5 7400). Ive tried looking online to no avail, my system has a GTX 1080, 2x 8GB RAM. If im not wrong both those CPU's are of the same generation and if my BIOS is up to date there should be no problem at all, wondering if anyone else has had this issue and maybe if anyone has a solution, I considered that maybe it could be the drivers?

There shouldn't be any issue with that upgrade, are you sure the new processor is good?

Upon inspection it would appear that the new processor is good, wish I knew the issue.
