Hi guys, i had this laptop 2 weeks ago, yesterday it started to make a strange metallic noise ( as something is vibrating ) coming from the fan (i can hear it only when the fan is on). I really don't know what can be the problem ( i don't think its dust cause the laptop is new). Maybe some problems with drivers? During this two weeks the most intense activity was playing games not very heavy, like F1 2015. The pc has a MX350 graphic card, i5 10th and 8gb lddr4 ram. Could you help me pleeease

Yep, that sounds like the best thing, unless it's still new enough to swap with the vendor. Warranty is determined differently in different countries, so sometimes you loose if you have opened it, sometimes you don't unless you actually broke something while it was open. Repairs take longer these days than they used to but again it's based a lot on where you are. Ask then for an estimate and they'll likely say something like two weeks...

You are still in warranty, so the best bet is either to swap it with your vendor and let them handle the Acer side the of the warranty or contact Acer support and send it to them for repair. The former will be faster by far. My guess is the fan has a manufacturing defect and needs to be replaced, perhaps a bad bearing?

OK, go to Acer.com and select Support at the top of the page. Choose Drivers and Manuals then enter SF314 -57G in the selection box. Once the page has loaded choose the BIOS section and download the latest version. It looks like it's currently 1.16. After it has downloaded you will need to extract the zip file somewhere where you can find the contents. There will be an executable files called BIOS_Acer_1.16_Windows.exe. Close out any other programs you have running, make sure you are plugged into AC and double click the file. It should proceed from there. When done it will reboot back to Windows. They may have tweaked the fan table in the newer BIOS versions and that might lessen the sound...

I did it all but the problem rested. I think i'll give it back to repair, if i open it i lose the warranty or not? Do you know how much it takes for all the process of reparation? Also if they just have to substitute the fan ( as you said probably the bearing is bad).
