Mounting RG270 monitor on a VESA mount

Hey,

The RG270 monitor is VESA compatible. However, I found that when I remove the original stand, there is a part of the stand attached to the monitor that I cannot remove. This part is positioned in a way where it interferes with the VESA mount and therefore I am unable to attach it.
There are no screws, only a nut which I cannot get a grip on.

Is there a way to remove this small part of the stand or do I need a VESA adapter ?

Thanks

    Sorry for the poor quality.

I believe that slides out by depressing some of the plastic it's set against originally that portion of the stand slid up into that area and snapped into place.
