Got a dual-boot Arch Linux working with Windows 10 on my new Spin 5. Neither Trackpad nor Sound working. Tried a live Ubuntu USB and audio worked, but no touchpad...
Anyone have a working touchpad with any Linux distro? I've been struggling with this for hours now...
Any and all tips welcome!

Turns out the touchpad in the BIOS was set as PCI instead of PS2. Changed that setting and now Ubuntu recognizes the pad. Not sure about Arch yet, Ubuntu install takes WAY less time! ;-)0

You can use the touchpad in I2C mode if you use the kernel parameter `pci=nocrs`. I made an installation guide for this laptop here that has some more tips and tricks:

There are some drawbacks to using PS/2 mode. The multi-touch doesn't work, and I believe the pen is not recognized at all.

I ended up installing Manjaro/KDE (instead of Ubuntu) and your advice to toggle the touchpad setting in the BIOS (described in the link) and then adding the kernel parameter is exactly what was needed. The touchpad now seems to have full (?) functionality in Manjaro. Excellent. Thank you.0
