New gaming laptop owner here. This week I bought an Acer Predator Helios 300, model PH317-54-70Z5. I purchased it mainly to play World of Warcraft: Shadowlands, when I am not at home. So far while playing on this new laptop, I've noticed CPU temperatures getting up to 97 degrees Celsius, not constantly, but that's the high.
I've learned that gaming laptops run hotter than gaming desktops, but should the temperatures be that high? Or did I get a gaming laptop dud? Or is maybe the thermal paste need to be re-done?
Any help and advice is really appreciated.

Specs:
17.3" screen
Intel i7-10750H
16GB RAM
1 TB SSD
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070

My i7 needs underclock to run cool enough. I think the large cpus struggle to cool. Cooler pad helped me aswell just get one with fans directly under your laptop fans. 2200 rpm 80 mm fans. but the best was underclock and undervolt -110. Nice laptop btw...

i was have the same issue as you .. and i solve the problem. just download quickCPU program then press speedShift , underclock the CPU like put it 2.6 to 3.8 and apply. after u do that don't close the program just minimize it. after u finish from play the game, back to the program and reset the cpuclock then apply and close the program ,,
