Hi,
I usually post in nitro forum but i think ill get better answers here.
So i bought a monitor to work with my an515 55 78df ( see specs in signature plz) no gync and no compatible freesync. Is a gigabyte M27F.

How should i match the fps and hz as i want them close so theres no issues tearing stuttering.

I usually get 70-80 fps in cod bocw and 75-90 in dirt rally 2.0. The monitor supports 144hz and down so i can set it to 120, 100, 60hz.

How should you set things up? whats the rule of thumb here? Do you want a higher or lower refresh rate to your game FPS?

Thanks for the info/help

edit: monitor does 144, 120, 100 and 60hz. 1ms. 1080p 27 inch. thanks

I'm running a Helios 500 with an external monitor an Asus PG279Q 165Hz with Overclock w/ G-sync. Depending on the game title I would recommend turning on Vsync since you don't have an active sync EX: Gsync/Freesync. The game will adjust the frame rate to the performance of your 1650Ti. If you can't adjust to the input lag from Vsync I would run a FPS Cap/Limit around those markers the 144, 120, etc, etc. Lastly in my experience you might still encounter tearing depending on the game title. I play Overwatch mainly as my FPS and I run a cap of 160-170 depending on where I start to see tearing.

TLDR: Run Vsync at first, then try running FPS Cap/Limits to 144,120,100.

Thanks for your input @FuraiChicken but isnt there issues with v sync? Doesnt it cut your fps of Hz or something major when it goes below a setting?

If i did want to manually configure my setup- ie, set the hz to 100 and keep game frames (fps) fluctuating freely is it best to go higher refresh rate vs your fps? or do you get issues like stuttering or tearing?

If you set your monitor to 100hz and get around that threshold you shouldn't see any tearing. I don't recall the actual tolerance for tearing if its +/- 5-10FPS but that's definitely somewhere I would start and test from there.
