I just got a great deal on a Acer Aspire TC-895-UA92 from Amazon. I plan on putting a Crucial MX500 2 TB SSD in the machine. Can I also expand the 12 GB RAM??

Your TC-8895 has an M.2 slot for NVMe SSDs, unless your model already has a SSD in there. If it's there already you'll want to replace the stock drive with the 2TB drive, after cloning the original drive to the new one. To do that easily you will want to pick up an external M.2 NVMe to USB case. If your model has a HDD installed, you can add the SSD, clone the existing drive to it, then disconnect the HDD to allow the system to configure itself to boot from the SSD. Once it's booting from the SSD you can replace the HDD and wipe it to allow one big partition as a data drive.
If your model comes with 12GB of ram, it's configured with an 8GB stick and a 4GB stick. You can go up to 16GB per slot, so the maximum with both slots filled is 32GB. If you only need 16GB for now, just replace the 4GB stick with a matching 8GB. You can use DDR4 2666MHz in any sizes, so it supports 24GB with one 16GB and one 8GB as well as the 16GB and 32GB.

Don't see any reason that you cannot do that.

Read this, if you have time. After ordering my new Acer computer from Amazon on Cyber Monday as the grateful beneficiary of a "LIghtning Deal" I discovered it would not be expected to arrive for almost TWO MONTHS even though I was told on the website it was "in stock." This delivery status also applies to the Crucial MX500 2 TB SSD I ordered at the same time. Two chats later with Amazon reps and the recipient of a lot of gobbledygook, I am led to believe that Amazon only wanted it to appear that the items were in stock. No doubt they sold them to countless customers and then are ordering them from the manufacturers. Thus the two-month wait. BTW, Amazon debited my bank account $695 a day after the sale. Also, the very same computer is now being sold on Amazon (at a much higher price) with a guaranteed delivery date of about a week!! One of my favorite sayings is, "God grant me patience, but give it to me now!" If my patience doesn't kick in after a few days I plan to send Mr. Bezos a letter. Shameful selling practice!!

Was your order placed directly with Amazon, or with one of the many sellers who use Amazon as a venue? That makes a difference, and helps you target your complaint better...

GOOD NEWS UPDATE!!  I just received an email in the last few minutes from Amazon saying that they have changed the estimated delivery date for my order of a new Acer computer and Crucial SSD. Originally scheduled to arrive at the end of January, it is now expected to be in my hands by December 11. Wow!! And I didn't even have to write that letter to Mr. Bezos I was considering. I wonder if my two unsuccessful chats with Amazon reps or my post on this website had anything to do with the drastic -- but entirely merit-worthy -- change to the delivery schedule?? Yes, I did place the order directly with Amazon and not to a third-party seller. Thanks for the follow-up Billsey!!
