The A515 has a headset jack with built-in mic, not a headphone jack. Some headphones won't work properly in a headset jack due to differences in plug's tip, ring & outer sleeve configuration. A stereo headphone usually only has one ring. A PC or phone headset has two rings, the outer ring or sleeve being dedicated to the mic not a headphone speaker except for a ground. Some headphones work. Some don't. Jack E/NJ

Actually my earphones were working fine with the laptop but yesterday it suddenly stopped detecting the earphone. The same earphone was working on my phone.

Open ControlPanel. Search 'restore point'. Click 'create a restore point ' in left pane. If System Protection is enabled in the box that pops up, click on the System Restore button. Click next. Do you see an automatic restore point with a date stamp of Nov 28th? Jack E/NJ
