Hi all,

I want to upgrade the stock 14" HD 1366 x 768 TN screen to a FullHD 1920 x 1080 IPS screen on my TravelMate x483-6856. FullHD requires a 2 lane eDP video cable, while HD requires only a 1 lane eDP cable.

Questions:

Is the stock video cable in the TravelMate x483-6856 a 1 lane or 2 lane eDP video cable, is it HD only or FHD capable?
If the stock cable is not 2 lane/FHD :
What is the part # for a replacement cable that is 2 lane /FHD capable?

Stock video cable part #: DD0Z09LC030

Stock 14" HD TN screen part #: LP140WH7-TSA1

Screen I would like to replace with : AUO B140HAN01.1 http://www.panelook.com/modeldetail.php?id=18919

With a SDD that will soon replace the stock HDD and a FHD IPS screen, this laptop will be very nice indeed...

Since they didn't offer the X483 or X483G with a HD screen, I would be very surprised if the eDP were more than needed. #12 here is the eDP connector, see if you can count the connections:

    Hi billsey,

But the screen (part #: LP140WH7-TSA1) which is used in my laptop have the edp port with 30 pins, that can be find at https://www.panelook.com/modeldetail.php?id=16901.

It may be that all pins are not populated or used. It might be hard to tell just looking at the connector. I would be very surprised to find that 1080P screens are supported. If it were Acer would have likely offered it in some SKUs.
