You  should update your drivers to get rid of this problem. Smart Driver Care is the best option according to my experience.

That's too cliché, I updated my driver frequently but it don't fix any problem. Lucky for those i7 users who don't experience this, but i5 users like me and this guy: Issues with Geforce MX250 and Microphone in Aspire 5 (A514-52G-59FW) — Acer Community, seems to be on the edge.

    >>>In light game like CS 1.6, I have to limit the fps to 60 so it don't happen.>>>

If you now have two display adapters working properly in DeviceManager, then 60 Hz refresh rate is typically the highest frequency warranted by ACER. Some games and apps may perform worse. Some better. But that is usually the guaranteed max even if the gpu chip itself is capable of higher frequencies. Jack E/NJ

That's not the point. I capped my fps to 60 720p because if I don't, the GPU temp will go 75C, that's when my frame drops every 2 second. Honestly I'd actually jump for joy if it's stable on 60 with 1080p resolution, and that's only CS 1.6 ladies and gentlemen, a game from 2000, imagine CS GO. Now I'm just using my Intel GPU for everything because it's just better in this situation.

If the power plan is (1) in performance mode (2) advanced cooling policy & max processor state are set to active and full tilt, (3) battery near 100% charged and plugged in and (4) BIOS menu doesn't reveal any Ctrl+S hidden GPU options in the Main or Advanced tabs---
then I'd guess the BIOS firmware is locked to throttle the discrete GPU at 75*C to conserve energy & limit heat buildup inside the case. I can't find any references in the specs for the A514-5x models as to the actual GPU throttling temperatures, though 75*C does seem low. But also consider that your case is thinner/smallerl than comparably-equipped nitro gaming models that also have two fans instead of one. You may be able to raise the throttling temperature limit a bit with something like throttlestop software. Jack E/NJ

I agree, but this thing don't happen to i7 users with the same model, are there any different on the cooling system or something? Also MX250 was designed for thin laptops right? So it should handle things pretty well at least for an hour in use.

Unfortunately this particular series shipped to many regions with many configurations.  So I suspect production variations are possible. While similar, there were at least 2 different mainboards  for each intel CPU when the series was first introduced. There may be more now. I can't find anything in the original specs that could explain any differences in GPU throttling behavior between any of them, including the i3 mainboards. Maybe you got a lemon with 75*C throttling. If it was my machine, I'd probably try a  few freeware tweakers to see if I could boost the throttling temp to at least 80*C. I doubt that would be stressing it too much. Jack E/NJ

Yeah, no, can't risk it. That should be my last option. I've been thinking about external cooler for a while, does it really work? My budget will be at least $50.

I used AutoCAD 2021, even limit the fps to 60, or lower if needed.

    Isn't AutoCad normally 30? Jack E/NJ

For heavy 3D use, it might be. What I do on the other hand is just a simple 2D drafting, so I can't say that 30 is normal. On my previous laptop, I used 940MX card which is older and weaker, and it never even stutter.

If it's still under warranty, I suggest trying afterburner or throttlestop anyway. Jack E/NJ

So I try a few tweaks on throttlestop. I can't find any option regarding GPU temp limit, but it seems that disabling turbo boost and undervolting my CPU kinda works a bit. Well at least at CS 1.6, I can use my full resolution and don't need to limit my FPS to 60 anymore.
