Does Acer always want the customer to ship back the entire PC? (even for simple part replacement?)

For items that are covered under factory warranty, does Acer always want the customer to ship back the entire PC?

For example: replacement of bad fans, PSU, DVD-ROM drive... all of which takes less than 5 minutes...(assuming someone knows how to use a screwdriver and has opened up computers before)    Does Acer ever just ship those small parts so the customer can just do it at home?

I keep reading stories about people shipping the whole PC back to Acer for small things that go bad.....  and end up waiting 3 weeks or more to get it back....

Thanks!

Typically yes, it allows them to verify there is only the one issue to be addressed.
