Since I got it brand new it has a weird problem with frame drops on an interval every 2-5 seconds. This happens after less than a minute playing a game or even when I work with CAD. In light game like CS 1.6, I have to limit the fps to 60 so it don't happen. When I tested on the benchmark, MX250 temps don't want to go higher than 75C. Every time it reaches 75 the GPU reduces clocks to the point where you get 5-10 fps and that happens frequently. So is this model a scam? The graphics card is useless they shouldn't even get it in here.

If the power plan is (1) in performance mode (2) advanced cooling policy & max processor state are set to active and full tilt, (3) battery near 100% charged and plugged in and (4) BIOS menu doesn't reveal any Ctrl+S hidden GPU options in the Main or Advanced tabs---
then I'd guess the BIOS firmware is locked to throttle the discrete GPU at 75*C to conserve energy & limit heat buildup inside the case. I can't find any references in the specs for the A514-5x models as to the actual GPU throttling temperatures, though 75*C does seem low. But also consider that your case is thinner/smallerl than comparably-equipped nitro gaming models that also have two fans instead of one. You may be able to raise the throttling temperature limit a bit with something like throttlestop software. Jack E/NJ

Unfortunately this particular series shipped to many regions with many configurations.  So I suspect production variations are possible. While similar, there were at least 2 different mainboards  for each intel CPU when the series was first introduced. There may be more now. I can't find anything in the original specs that could explain any differences in GPU throttling behavior between any of them, including the i3 mainboards. Maybe you got a lemon with 75*C throttling. If it was my machine, I'd probably try a  few freeware tweakers to see if I could boost the throttling temp to at least 80*C. I doubt that would be stressing it too much. Jack E/NJ

Check your graphics drivers (DeviceMgr) and BIOS version number (msinfo32) against the updates available at this link  https://www.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/support-product/8007?b=1

The BIOS is ok. But my version for graphics drivers is 27.21.14.5730, while on the site the latest is 26.21.14.3090. Does it mean I have to downgrade?

Press Win+R. Enter 'msinfo32'. What CPU processor is listed in the right pane? Jack E/NJ

    Is this the one?

Yes. Looks like other users have had  similar issues with 27.21.14.5730 on other models. But can't tell if it's an ACER-specific or an Nvidia-generic driver that a Win10 update slipped in there when you weren't looking. Try this. Uninstall 27.21.14.5730. Then exit DeviceManager without re-installing anything. Then shut down Windows normally. Then turn it back on to see what version gets automaticlly re-installed preferrably off-line. Jack E/NJ

Should I uninstall device through device manager or just remove the driver from control panel?

DeviceManager is accessible thru ControlPanel or by running devmgmt.msc

First make sure DeviceManager isn't hiding the adapter by clicking on the view tab to show hidden devices. If still not visible, right click and uninstall all the drivers with yellow or red warnings in DeviceManager. Exit Device Manager without trying to reinstall anything. Shut down Windows normally. Then turn it back on again. Then post a screenshot of DeviceManager with the display adapter folder opened. Jack E/NJ

If you uninstalled it and then it automatically re-appeared after a cold boot, then right click on it and try to update it while connected to the internet. Jack E/NJ

Go to this link and see if the automatic installer will work on your system. https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/drivers/

Maybe I failed to mention that I did use Geforce Experience to up my driver and see if anything change in each update, and that goes for a year before asking to this forum.
