@Vey Thanks for the updates! I'll keep that in mind. Hopefully your issues will end soon. Also, hopefully, ACER can help us.. hopefully.

@Vey Thanks for the updates! Aprreciate it very much! I'm also using a wireless usb mouse (logitech m331 silent plus) even before the mousepad started to stop working. I don't remember if I've ever tried trying to reinstall the necessary/affected drivers then restarting the laptop and removing the usb receiver. We'll try it again soon. Hopefully, Acer we'll be able to fix your issue, and hopefully mine too. lol

@Vey Something really weird and good just happened. My mousepad started working again. Didn't do anything. Haven't tried to fix it in quite a long time. I just shutdown my laptop last night, like any other night. Though, there was a windows update when I shut it down last night, I suspect this is the culprit that fixed it. If the update fixed it, the fault that it started to stopped working are the previous windows update, most likely. Hopefully this is a permanent fix.

I disabled the mousepad using the fn + f7 key then placed the laptop in sleep mode. When I opened it again and reenabled it, its not working. Sad life.

Yeah, windows update is the only thing that seems to be fixing the issue all the time, unfortunately only temporarily. I guess it does some refresh either with register or drivers and then it started to work.
Currently I am testing and option that the USB receiver from wireless mouse is causing some trouble. Changed a mouse to a different one but need to make another reinstall go make sure i have a fresh start.

@Gian_GOKU my laptop returned from service and according to the note, the touchpad cable was a bit loose. It has been pressed back to motherboard and touchpad started to work.
Well, as with every solution, lets see how it will behave after few days.

@Vey Sorry for the late reply. Hmm. Thats good to know. I'm planning on checking the one on my laptop. Don't know when I'll do it though. This is really helpful info. Thanks much!

Hi all, just wanted to confirm that its been 10 days since the fix and touchpad is working without any fault. It seems to be the root cause.

Hi guys. Just an update. I think I've found the problem that caused this issue. A rouge tiny screw inside the laptop. It was from the HDD bay/bracket. Don't knw how it came off as I've only placed a SSD and addional RAM. Haven't touched the HDD.

After putting the screw back and booting the laptop back, reinstalling the mousepad driver, it worked again. Around 3 weeks has passed, the mousepad is still working. No more issues. Grateful the screw didn't cause any long term damage, specially shorting any other parts.
