The bright blue flashing LED on the front bezel signifying cabled network activity is intrusive at night. Is there a way to disable this without covering the front panel? There is no option in the Windows 10 Pro menu to enable sleep mode either, only "shut down or restart" are shown in the Windows menu. Can sleep mode be enabled and would this prevent the network light from flashing continuously?

It looks like the activity LED is going to be on for all sleeps modes:
That table also implies that sleep modes are available, so likely you just have the wrong parameters set in power options.

    Thanks billsey,

I think those options are only available on laptops? All I can see in Power Options in Control Panel on my Windows 10 Pro desktop is a sub menu to choose or customise a power plan. There is no tick option to amend shutdown settings or buttons?

Found some sleep settings that can be configured in power plan and chose to enter sleep after 15 minutes. This seems to shut down the PC instead of sleep as it can only be brought back to life by pressing the on/off switch on the front panel when it seems to just restart from scratch?
Moving the mouse or keying into the keyboard does nothing?

Those are all available to any Windows 10 computer, though some are not enabled by default. From my image you can see that I was in the old Control Panel Power Options, not the Settings; System; Power and Sleep. You can get there from the new side of things by choosing Additional Power Settings, then Change what the power buttons do.

Thanks again, perhaps it depends on what version of W10 is running as I can see some options in the old control panel but not the same as your screenshot. Hibernate is available but there is no option for sleep?
The W10 version is 2004 Windows 10 Pro OS build 19041.572 with Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.31.0

It seems to have been a graphics driver issue. I updated the generic Microsoft driver with an Intel version and all seems OK now.

Yes I couldn’t see a link between graphics and power issues but its fairly well documented on the web.
