Acer aspire 3 A315-51, unable to set bigger refresh rate than 60hz at 2K res. for external monitor

I have acer aspire 3 A315-51-55E3, which has intel hd 620 graphics and i am unable to set bigger refresh rate than 60hz with my 2K monitor Dell 27 S2716DG which supports up to 144hz over hdmi.
I use hdmi 2.1 cable (no conversions), i have latest version of freshly installed oeprating system windows 10 and latest drivers for this graphics.
Moreover i do not see hdr available for this monitor in operating system settings. The monitor is OK, tested it with other laptop.
On graphics manufacturer's page i see it supports up to 4K60hz, so i assume it should handle 2k with bigger refresh rate. Also hdr is supported.

Is it possible that port version of hdmi (output) from my laptop does not support hdr and also bigger refresh rate than 60hz at 2k? Or motherboard manufacturer?
Does anyone know where could be the problem?

Sorry no. The HDMI output port rate may be different from graphics adapter capability. External monitors are usually limited/warranted to 60Hz max depending on resolution. Some external monitors seem to do better than others but no guarantees any will exceed the 60Hz max through the HDMI port. Jack E/NJ

Are u sure about this?. i saw a similar post claiming that the port supports hdmi 1.4b. This is really frustrating as iam about to buy a high refresh rate monitor but i couldn't know if my laptop can even support it .

Depends on what you mean by "sure"? The A315-51 is NOT considered a gaming laptop mainly because it doesn't have a dedicated GPU and its own video RAM that can handle high FPS or Hz loads especially through the HDMI port. Doesn't matter if it's v1.4, 1.4a, 2. 2.1. Some external monitors seem to do better than others on this model. Maybe 75Hz or 90Hz tops. But there are no 100% guarantees that any will exceed the 60Hz max through its HDMI port You just have to try one and see. So I suggest buying from a vendor with a good returns policy just in case you're not happy. Just don't waste your money on a 140 or 165Hz-capable monitor expecting that the A315-51 is capable of delivering those rates.
