Hi

Recently I find that I cannot access the Acer SW5-173 hard disk.  When I look at File Explorer, I cannot see it at all.

When I check with Computer Management->Disk Management, it the 500gb hard disk as unallocated.  When I try to initialize it, it says the request cannot be performed because of a I/O  device error.

I read somewhere that I should install the Quick Access Application.  So I downloaded this program (I also checked the Programs and Features) and finds that the program is already installed.  Anyway, I tried to reinstall and I was asked to turn off the SWITCHLOCK.

This is where I am stuck.  I cannot find anywhere which can tell me where to turn off the SWITCHLOCK.  I tried to contact the Malaysian Acer Customer Support as I am now in malaysia, but I told they cannot tell me and I have to contact Thailand (where I bought the tablet).  All websites for Thailand are in Thai and I do not speak, read or write Thai even though I stay there.  So I am really stuck.

Can somewhere please assist me to resolve this problem?

Thanks and regards

Judy

Are you referring to the hard disk in the keyboard dock?
Is the keyboard and mouse on the keyboard dock working fine when the tablet is docked?

try to initial or format the hard drive with a third party tool. Believe me, a third party tool can be more powerful than the disk management or built-in tools most times.

install and open acer quick access
    -Click acer signature Features
    -click gear (top right position)
    -uncheck switchlock
    -done
