My Acer Spin 3 shutting down suddenly, after switching on the battery it shows a full percentage only. On connecting to the adaptor it doesn't shut down. I've bought this laptop 10 months ago only.

Which Spin 3 model do you have? It should be something like SP3xx-xxx-xxxx. It might just need a battery reset. Some Spin 3 models have a battery reset pinhole. On those you can do the reset by shutting down, disconnecting everything including the power, then use a bent paperclip or similar to press and hold the reset for 15-30 seconds. Release the reset and wait 15-30 minutes then plug the power back in, but leave the system still off. Wait for the indicator to show a full battery and turn it back on. If the issue was just the battery getting confused as to it's state things should be back to normal.

Acer SP314-53N-77AJ. I've done that method, but the problem still exists.

Try a recalibration in Windows (disconnect power and run until Windows shuts down due to low battery, then plug in and charge all the way before turning it back on, repeat a few times) and if that doesn't work it's definitely time to contact Acer support for warranty service.

Is the battery reset button on the underside of the Spin 3 laptop ? Would like to try this but don't want to break something. Thanks for your assistance.

@TonySun do you have exactly the same model as this thread is for? Some models have the battery reset pinhole on the bottom, some on the side, and some (a lot) don't have it at all.
