Hello everyone, I'm aware about the 1.07 updates' problem and the proverbial "if it ain't broke don't fix it", but my unit has been suffering really bad temps lately (barely 3 weeks old) and I am slowly looking for options I can try to do myself. My model is a PH315-53-72RY

1. So is updating BIOS 1.01 straight to 1.06 safe? Can I skip 1.03?
2. Also can someone confirm if this is indeed the correct page for my model? (Page: https://www.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/support-product/8376?b=1)
3. Should I even do a BIOS update? Can it help with my thermal problems?

Thanks!

yes it is safe, as long as you don't accidentally upgrade the bios to 1.07 in the optional windows update

I updated mine to v1.07 directly from the website and everything is running fine but there's a post in the forums saying you can't undervolt your CPU in ThrottleStop after this update. I can verify that the core voltage offset has been increased to +0.050V but it doesn't seem to increase the temps. I would say the update is safe but not necessary.
