I updated BIOS V2.12 and the problem seemed to be solved. The next day the samen problem occured. Up volume doens't respond and when trying to put the w700 asleep, the narrator starts.

I experienced the same problems. The 22th of april I installed bios 2.12 and it worked perfectly until about a week or two ago. The problems have come back except this time the narrator is not launched. Fact is that neither the power button nor the volume up button works. Both buttons are important for convinient tab use so I hope you will but in some effort to put out a new bios update.

It seems like windows installs some kind of update the made it revert to starting up the narrator. When this happens just reinstall the bios 2.12. This is what I did and it works fine now.

Scratch that, it only worked for a day then reverted back. I decided to delete alot of the acer bloatware that came on the tablet and it seemed to fix the problem........for now.

The program I used can be found here.

Good luck to all. I wish i could just do a clean install on this thing. Apparently it has a embedded windows 8 key so installing pro reverts the tablet back to regular windows 8 and requires you to buy the pro update through the website. Some people have had some luck with entering the pro key after the clean install and then windows automatically downloaded the pro upgrade for them.
