Hi, my Aspire 7 A715-72G has a problem where in one in every about 10 times doesn't turn on the display. The Laptop seems to be on but the display is black.

Started happening about a month ago. I have to force restart it by holding the on/off button and turn it on again and then it works normally.

Downloaded HD tune to see if there is a problem with my HDD but there seems to be no issues. Almost everything is green and 2 things are yellow or OK.

One time I fixed it when i put it on my charger but the laptop seem to be on 20% battery power so it is not low power. The display turned on like nothing happened.

I don't want for this to turn into something serious so if somebody has an idea what could be the problem tell me.

Pressing the keys did nothing and it would still be weird if the laptop went to sleep right after i turn it on without showing the place where I put my password.

It might be nothing as it is my first laptop and idk what is abnormal and what is an accidental error.

Hi, Sorry to hear about your issue. Kindly try the below steps.

    Power Drain and BIOS RESET

    1) Unplug the AC power adapter.
    2) Press and hold the Power button down until the unit goes off.
    3) Search for a pinhole that has a battery symbol next to it on the backside of your laptop, insert a small paperclip in the battery reset pinhole, press and  hold it down for 25 seconds. Then release the paperclip and turn the unit back to normal position.
    4) When the unit is off completely, press the power to turn on the unit.
    5) Immediately keep on tapping the F2 to enter the BIOS.
    6) In the BIOS, press F9 to reset the BIOS to setup defaults.
    7) At the confirmation screen, press Enter for Yes to load the default configuration.
    8) Press F10 to save your changes, and restart the system. Select Yes and press ENTER to confirm.
Try this and post your results.

I hope that this is helpful to you! If I have answered your question click YES alone please, thank you  :3
I found a solution earlier today. It is enough to place my PC in sleep mode with Fn + F1 and the press some key to "wake it up". Works fine that way. I will keep your answer in mind if my solution stops working.

    Hello!
I have the same problem as Kalach, but in a more serious way. My display turns on but it's extremly dark-green. I only see that it's on, but i can't do anything. Sometimes it is also start vibrating. I can only use it if I connect my second display to the lap-top (it works perfectly). After the BIOS reset that you recommended it's good, but a days later i have to start it again. (I don't know if it counts but a month ago the first "symptoms" was that when i close the lid the music didn't stop.)

    Hi @MartinJohn00001
I bought this system just 3 days ago and now have the same problem. In fact, it's occuring much frequently just within 5min after starting the unit.
The steps you suggested above didn't work for me. I already tried these steps but still facing the same issue.

Hi, I also have an Acer A715-72G. About 1 week I have a problem, every time when i turn on my laptop in the morning, screen is not working, just black.
I have to every time connect laptop to an external monitor and run AIDA 64 benchmark test and restart, after that it seems to be working properly, but it takes about 30 minutes to start laptop
A tried reset BIOS, restart baterry with paper clip and also discharge and charge the battery, problem is not solved, please help.

    Hi guys.

I don't know if I will be able to fix the problem becouse it seems that both of them are different from mine. Try asking a new question if you haven't. Mine hasn't happened for quite some time and my version of the system is about 2 years old so the components might be different.
