Intel Graphics Update Oct 2020 overwrites OEM version. Is this good or bad?

Hi everyone, Just got an Intel Driver Update with this warning: "Installing this Intel generic graphics driver will overwrite any customized driver from your Computer Manufacturer (OEM)."
Will Acer continue to support my product and provide my model with a tailored update?

The Intel graphics drivers and updates are specifically done by Intel as an improvement for their product, as it caters specifically for the inbuilt driver for your i5-9300H cpu with its integrated GPU, which is the Intel UHD 630 graphics only, it’s got nothing to do with your GeForce® GTX 1650 graphics. The Acer driver is a generic and a derivative of the Intel UHD 630 graphics driver anyway! I’ve updated many Intel graphics directly from Intel and had no problems, as a matter of a fact, the Intel drivers have improved performance of their integrated cpu graphics. The Acer’s drivers are only a tailored driver for your Nitro AN515-54 when released as there are trademark and royalty legalities involved, it does not affect your Intel UHD 630 graphic.

Thanks for that Stephen. I do not know how to tell which drivers are generic and which are specific to my laptop. The Intel 'warning' made me cautious. I will give it a go. Ty

I would say don't. But then again I don't have a nitro I have a Predator Triton. Doing that very thing on mine caused a driver conflict and after the post screen I got nothing but a black screen after doing the Intel driver update vs the Acer driver's. Had to do a Alt-F10 full factory reset do fix it.
