Don't update the BIOS on predator 2020 models, my friend did and now unable to use ThrottleStop and stuck with higher temperatures even when doing basic tasks.
("Improve some i7 CPU compatibility issue." Date: 2020/10/15 Version: 1.07)
it seems to overclock the CPU(+0.51mv) and lock you out for using ThrottleStop like applications to undervolt for lower temperatures.
Just a heads up , i hope you find it before upgrading.

Good work! I appreciate your heads up.

If anyone else is reading this, never update your BIOS right away when it's released, wait for people to review it. In fact you don't need to unless you are facing a problem where the only solution would be updating your BIOS. If it ain't broke, don't try to fix it.
Even if you did, you can revert back to your previous version (if you face a problem) so don't worry too much about it.

Oh boy, I wish this was posted 3 days ago. I am having trouble reverting back to a bios I can undervolt in. Can anyone help me as I have no experience with laptop bios flashing.

    same problem here,
Don't try to downgrade BIOS unless a legit source say it is possible, in doing so could brick the device or contact acer service center and least you can do is wait for next BIOS update but that could be a couple of months.
For more insight go to the driver support page of PH315-52 click here under BIOS section see the time interval of each update, i believe this 2019 model update trend could possibly be of 2020 Edition.
If i could find any info regarding the above matter or a solution for locked out user's from fiddling with ThrottleStop, I'll post an update.

1.06 bios is the latest that anyone can update as of the moment, it seems to fix the power limit throttling issues on some 2020 models as well.

My bios version by default is 1.06 . Does this one allow undervolting with Throttlestop?
And if yes, can someone recommend me a profile for the same? I experimented a bit ( -125mv Undervolt), and ended up freezing the system.

I used intel utility, my stable was -105 -100

By Intel utility, do you refer to XTU?

I don't know for sure my friend updated it direct to 1.07 so there ain't much i can say. Don't update BIOS unless something is wrong and for the undervolting if you are able to adjust clock in Throttle Stop that means you are not locked out and freezing issue won't damage unless you are undervolting the worst case you can come up with is a BSOD try starting from -50mv and gradually fine tune it by adding -10mv each time you find it stable enough for you. Each machine has it's own endurance capacity mine works at -150mv(PH315-52).
tip- completely uninstall intel XTU(with a power uninstaller like IObit uninstaller)XTU tends to cause weird situation in undervolting, use ThrottleStop only.

Don't downgrade unless you are sure it's backward compatible and for that contact acer support or you'll end up with a bricked device.

I just purchased the laptop Helios 300 i7 10750h RTX 2060 variant and it's BIOS version is 1.01 (27-04-2020). After reading this post should update my BIOS to 2nd latest version which is 1.06? or should I wait for later versions?

Don't update BIOS unless something is broken.

Real question is this intentional or is it a bug? The +50 on core voltage
I understand about not being able to undervolt, but isn't the cpu has more than enough current on 0 voltage offset

IMO this ain't no bug but the difference between 9750H and 10750H isn't that much, just for synthetic benchmarks and marketing this update is pushed and will be reverted in future updates due to higher temperature issues.
