Remove charger. Gently insert paperclip into battery reset pinhole on the bottom for 30 seconds. Plug charger back in. Wait till charge LED turns from steady orange to steady blue. Then turn laptop back on. Jack E/NJ

Go to the elevated command prompt.  Enter 'powercfg /batteryreport'. Then return to the desktop. Open file explorer. Then search for' battery-report.html' in the c:\windows\system32\ sub-folder. Double-click to open it in the browser. Compare design full charge capacity with its remaining full charge capacity. Post screenshot of the first part of the report if possible. Jack E/NJ

I had the exact same issue before (Aspire V3-471G), done some troubleshooting and found it was probably because the battery was reporting a higher full charge capacity than the actual full charge capacity. The battery was from an unnamed brand when I bought it online. I swapped back the original battery that came with the laptop and the issue was fixed.

Your battery is defective and needs to be replaced. It has already lost 35% of its designed capacity. If the LED fails to turn blue after 7 or 8 hours, then it also has an internal short and should be removed as soon as possible. New replacement batteries are less than $30USD. Google the battery part number AS16A8K for vendors who ship to your region. Jack E/NJ
