Acer ED273UR goes black randomly for a few seconds when on Displayport at 144hz and 120hz

Just got this from Acer's Recertified Scratch and Dent store on eBay, so I have my suspicions it's because of that, but just want to make sure there aren't any fixes that I am missing. So, when I am using Displayport on this monitor it goes black, just black, no "no signal" or anything like that, just black, for a few seconds and then comes back on. This happens randomly, and does not happen when using HDMI. The reason why I don't just use HDMI is because I use G-Sync with this and I need HDMI for my second monitor as my laptop (MSI GE62VR Apache Pro) only has an HDMI output, and my laptop only has one HDMI input. So, unless I want no G Sync and only one monitor, I have to use Displayport. This also only happens when I am on 144hz or 120hz, it does work at 100hz with a custom resolution, but anything beyond that gives me the same problem. I am also using a mini displayport to displayport cable as my laptop does not have a full sized displayport. I do know for a fact that the mini displayport works on my laptop as I have a monitor that only has DVI-D and I had to get a mini displayport to DVI-D cable, which works completely fine.

What I have tried:
 Updating to the latest drivers
Changing the display scaling to GPU
Changing from 1440p to 1080p still at 144hz/120hz

I do not have another computer in the house that has a full sized displayport, so trying another cable is out of the question. I am thinking it is either the cable or the displayport on my monitor, but if anyone has any recommendations I would appreciate that. Please note that I am fairly tech savy, so you do not have to worry about confusing me.

Thanks

Hello, I also got black screen issue with my XV253QX and GTX 1070 connected to displayport when I set refresh rate higher than 60hz even if G-sync has been turned off. It seems my issue solved after upgrade bundled displayport cable to a better displayport 1.4 certified cable, hope this helps.

Yeah, I managed to fix it with a certified Displayport 1.4 cable despite my other cable saying its Displayport 1.2, which should've been enough, but I guess not. Thanks for the comment
