    Hi Yaredace,
    I don't know anything specific about your machine but the delay may be that in your BIOS diagnostics are built in and they are fully enabled. See if you can go into the BIOS and turn them off or at least set them to run minimally. That should speed you through when booting up.

    Where can i find that option on acer laptop
  • What is the exact model of the notebook? Example an515-51-75kz! On slow startup, did you mean that to enter uefi bios takes 7 minutes, or does it refer to windows startup?

    Open Control Panel. Search 'button'. Click 'change what the power buttons do' in the left pane. Click 'change settings that are currently unavailable'. Scroll down and checkmark the box for fast startup to enable fast boot. Then shutdown. Try booting up again. Jack E/NJ

    @Yaredace
    You would need to go into the BIOS, F2 when starting up, and look for a section which might cover startup diagnostics or memory test and turn it off. Some machines can do very comprehensive diagnostics during startup which would cause the long time delay you are experiencing. I apologize for not being able to help you more as I am not familiar with your specific computer.

    Hello, I had a problem of almost exactly one minute delay before BIOS came out. Disabling TPM (TCM) in Security panel of BIOS (UEFI) solved it for me.

    If your PC's Last Bios time is some number less than 10 seconds, it's fine.VEry often we see the Last Bios Time of around 3 seconds. However, if you see the Last Bios time over 25-30 seconds, it means that there's something wrong in your UEFI.Thank you,Regards Ommovies
