Recently purchased a recovery usb for my aspire that I got from a local pawn shop and found when I powered it up it has no bootable device. So I got the snid off the bottom and got the recovery from acer. Got it in the mail quickly and followed the instructions on the paper usb came with. Now it's not going past the check image status. Error code: 262150. What to do i got to do to get this laptop up and running so my kids can get their school work completed?

Sounds like the laptop's main storage chip got fried somehow. Where'd you get the laptop? Jack E/NJ

Shut the machine off. Insert the ACER recovery stick. Turn the machine back on and immediately start pressing the F12 key. A menu with the stick should appear to allow you to boot from it again. Repeat the process. Jack E/NJ

Maybe got a bad stick. BIOS must stay in UEFI mode. Go to this link and create your own bootable Win10 installation stick using Microsoft's freebie USB media creation tool.   https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10
