mouse wireless lt2002u

I have just bought a used Gateway lt2022u netbook.  It has WINDOWS XP on it.  I bought a wireless mouse but when I try to install it (I assume the software is in the USB plug), I get a warning that continuing with the installation may cause system instability now or in the future.  It strongly recommends NOT installing it.  This is a standard off the shelf wireless mouse. I also tried another wireless mouse from another computer.  It works fine with the other computer (also with WINDOWS XP) but I get the same warning when I plug in the wireless connector into the netbook??  I don't want to mess up the netbook so I am using it without a mouse for right now.  Any suggestions??

The wireless mouse might need the drivers. Which make is the mouse and check the driver compatibility of the mouse.

The message you receive is because the driver for the wireless mouse is not tested by windows or not windows certified. You can ignore the message and install the driver if that cause any system instability you can go restore the computer to a previously working date.
