I was recording using the acer webcam that is built into acer laptop and when the screensaver came on and the computer went to sleep mode ....the video was recording....i noticed and brought the computer back and THEN ended recording.
All the video shows is the last few seconds(between bringing it back from sleepmode and then ending recording button) BUT the file size represents the full 5 or 6 minute video...JUST ONLY PLAYS START TO FINISH from back from sleep to end recording (0:04seconds in this case)

So its a 5 minute video that is 1.41GB but when i play it in windows media player it only registers as a 0:04second clip(the time it took to bring the computer back from sleep and stop recording)

Is there anyway to recover the first 4minutes+ of video (the file is 1.41GB and doesnt represent the size of a 0:04second clip so it gives me some hope that the first 4minutes+ are stored somewhere in this corrupt video file

    1. Be sure that you include what product model you have.  ASPIRE5734Z

    2. Include the operating system that you have on your product.      WINDOWS7 HOME PREMIUM OS

    Thanks

It is unlikely that you will be able to recover the 'lost' file, however do a file search using the expected file extension. It just might pop up in your list of videos.

For the future, extend the time until the screen saver activates to cover any anticipated recording length,
