ACER NITRO 5 Overheating 90-95 deg

Hello guys, Is it normal for this laptop to reach 90-95 degrees on CPU? My GPU temp is okay, it is between 60-70. The laptop is throttling when it hits 90+ deg and when it throttles my charger wont work for about 5 mins. I am planning to ask acer for a replacement since this laptop was bought 5 days ago. Is there anything I need to do before going for a replacement?

    Depends on the game. Some use the CPU more than they should letting the GPU nearly at idle. Raise the laptop off a hard surface to promote better airflow if you've got a wayward game. If you've got Control Panel power plan set to  high performance, plugged in and battery near 100% charge before firing up the load, it probably shouldn't be doing this if you've taken reasonable precautions for promoting airflow. If still no joy, then yeah, I'd try a full factory reset ASAP using the ALT+F10 cold boot method shown in the video below. Don't dawdle too long though trying to fix this because ACER warranty service will take a lot longer than simply returning the machine as defective to the seller for a refund or replacement.     I had the same issue straight out of the box, until i decided to take the chance (void the warranty) and took apart my Nitro 5. Re-pasted the GPU and CPU. Now the CPU runs 70-80 degrees tops on heavy load, 35-45 degrees idle (Undervolted to -0.145 V and a cooling pad bellow).

    Before the surgery, i was having an average 95 degrees playing Assassins Creed Origins, and it would rise several degrees above that in certain areas. After the whole Undervolt + Repaste, i tested the game again with surprisingly significant difference! CPU : 80-ish tops! and the GPU : steady in 60's (GPU not much of a difference after repaste).

    Having the laptop raised for airflow would also be beneficial.

    sadly its normal for intel chips to be quite hot since they don't use a thermal compound in the chip, and the thermal paste used by acer is meh, so I would return it until I get one that does not heat up that bad, or just change brands altogether, to be quite frank, if any other brand had Ryzen with dedicated graphics, I would return this laptop and get the other brand, still got 28 days to exchange it so could happen.

    Hey did your laptop had a sticker on the bottom side on the screw saying acer india warrenty?

    Hey did your laptop had a sticker on the bottom side on the screw saying acer india warrenty?

    If you have that sticker and remove the sticker and screw you will invalidate the warranty. If your laptop is running hot (above 90 deg), it may be caused by something other than bad thermal paste. Please start a new topic of your own and give details of your problem.     I had the same issue when i run game on acer nitro 5 CPU temperature go up to 95C, but GPU stay in range about 70C. please help i just bought laptop
