Hi?
Tell me please why you want to update the BIOS ?

Because the 2.4Ghz wifi is very slow, even when i have full signal strength. 5Ghz though is perfect. I tried every channel in 2.4Ghz, but its still slow and drops conection often. I'm on windows 8, tried various drivers, so the only last remaining option is to update the bios.

And you think that updating your BIOS will have an effect on your Wi-Fi speed?
It will not! Your BIOS does not have anything to do with your Wi-Fi (not even during boot up).
You may have full signal strength but you could also have interference on the 2.4GHz band (it is the most common band).

If u've got the atheros AR5BWB222, i'm pretty sure updating ur bios can solve this problem.
wifi card ( or drivers ) i've ever seen, rlly !0 -
I already told you there's no interference with other channels, , turbo only goes up to 2,3Ghz instead of 2,8, there's no UEFI etc. The wifi problem is not rare, a lot of people has it...

????
When did you say you had no interference on 2.4GHz?
Clue: Signal strength has nothing to do with signal quality.
Self test question: If 5Ghz band is interference free, are all other bands interference free too?
A:
1. Yes they are all good so I'll update the BIOS.
2. No, it has nothing to do with bands so I'll update the BIOS.
3. I don't have the foggiest (so I'll update the BIOS).
I feel you are convinced your BIOS is the problem so any offer of help will simply fall on deaf ears.
Hold on. I've had second thoughts ---- you should update your BIOS (you never know how good the placebo effect is until you try!).
