Been trying to download this update for days and only been able to get the full download tonight. Had to shut down computer to start a installation, took 3 hours to get to 30% and then went black screen and would not turn back on. When it finally did it said it was trying to restore the update, but have been on the acer loading screen for thirty minutes. I’m not entirely sure my pc is compatible at all and now I’ve likely broken it trying to update it.

I have the Acer nitro 5 AN515 and it is definitely incompatible with windows v2004 update. MS have attempted to install the update several times but it fails everytime. Before that I spoke with ACER tecnical support and they had no answer except to say "Do not try to update to windows 10 v 2004. So it looks like there is NO answer until Acer fix their laptop. If they don't by the time my warranty is up I will return it for a refund.

Does anyone from Acer look at these messages because this Acer Nitro 5 AN515 seems to be a problem machine. Has anyone had to return their laptop or is everybody happy with not being able to update.

So you both realize how ridiculous is to blame the hardware for the most buggy OS not updating? Did you ever checked the web how broken the 2004 update is (despite of the HW)? So Acer advised not to update because of this to preserve you from having troubles and you are complaining. I can`t understand this! BTW, we here are user like you and not an Acer employees and this forum is not an official Acer support channel.

It took a while for the notification for the update being incompatible to fully circulate. I, for one, wasn’t aware of the incompatibility of the OS until days after I fixed the above problem. Moreover, it took a lot of digging to get to that information, vs weeks later when that notification in regards to incompatibility was a physical thing in my update center. Sometimes people don’t know where to look, and having a brand new computer crash out on me during a busy work month was pretty out of left field. Nevertheless I recognize that this was an internal problem easily fixed with some research, but condescension from both sides helps no one.

Agree, but still blaming a HW for an OS issue is not OK either and don`t get me wrong, I am not an Acer employee nor an Acer advocate.
