Hello forums. I am a new member that just purchased a second hand acer predator triton 500 Pt-515-51. I have gone through many of the forums and have very slightly improved the performance of the laptop. I am however, still unable to come close to the fps I am supposed to be reaching. I am unable to run a playable dolphin emulator. Dolphin runs has lows and highs from 14 fps - 50 fps. Fortnite runs on max settings with lows of 5 fps -35 fps. This latptop when not gaming performs well but when gaming the performance is not there.
Things I have tried:
ThrottleStop redsands profile (slightly helped)
I have gone inside and replaced the thermal paste and am now seeing stable cpu and gpu temps. (The previous owner did not have any thermal paste on the cpu or gpu but thermal paste on other chipsets and when i first bought the laptop at idle i would see around 70 degrees celcius. IT has not stableized at around 34 degrees celius always even when overclocking.
I tried fresh reinstall of windows.
One other issue I noticed when I purchased the laptop was that the predator sense application was not installed and the model name listed under Acer Case was PT-515-51.

Bios V.1.13
RTX 2060 NVidia Driver version: 456.38
(2)8gb sticks = 16gb ram. Ram was swapped with brand new 8 sticks to see if that was the issue but performance was the same.
I have tried going into nvidia settings and putting maximum performance preferred as well as switching programs to the NVidia gpu and same performance.

I will gladly accept any help that comes my way from experienced predator users or people with similar issues.

Thread was edited to add model name to the title

When you say a defective chip do you mean the i7 processor?

Have you tried resetting the laptop to factory settings?

Yes I have a couple of times. And no luck. It seems like the laptop wants to perform but something is just bottlenecking the performance.

I don't know if this might help, but at this point, I think you're desperate enough to try almost anything.

    Option 1:

There is a possibility that your CPU is locked performance-wise by a setting in the Power Plan. Go ahead and follow the screenshots below to check yours:

Click on "CHANGE ADVANCED POWER SETTINGS", then you should see this:

If you're not on Ultimate Performance, although not necessary, you may want to consider choosing that one. After that, scroll down until you see "PROCESSOR POWER MANAGEMENT":

Make sure the "MINIMUM PROCESSOR STATE" and "MAXIMUM PROCESSOR STATE" is decently high.

    Option 2

The next step is to make sure you have installed the driver for the GPU. In some cases, it's not reinstalled back after you format your computer. If that's the case, or even if it's not, go ahead and google "Acer Drivers" and click the Acer website. You should see a webpage like this. Pick your device by going through "NOTEBOOK", "PREDATOR", and pick the exact model or enter the serial number as shown below:

Now, understand that updating BIOS can get pretty dangerous unless you know what you're doing. Try installing that if you're comfortable.

If not, skip that one and do install these:

Let me know how it turns out after you do all the above. Good luck.
