Helios 300 The pink thing in the VRAM modules

Hello my guys, this is my first post in the acer community, and unfortunately it's about the bad heat dissipation that I'm getting from this laptop(Helios 300 2019  PH315-52), I've applied all the recommendations that do not imply break the guarantee  but I still get 93 degrees in the CPU after a few minutes of Apex legends. Due to the tragic situation that the world is experiencing at the moment, and the remoteness that I am from the place that I bought the laptop (I am from Latin America and the laptop is imported from the USA), I decided to repaste the laptop from myself, so far my only problem is that pink thing found in VRAM modules(Link 1), and I really don't know what to do with it, At first I thought of just applying the new thermal paste to the CPU and GPU and leaving that pink thing intact, just like this guy does in this video(Link 2), or in this other(Link 3), But since there is no information that it has happened long after the repasting in either video, I don't know if they really are a reliable guide to carry out this process. So what do you recommend me to do?, Should I do the repaste as shown in the videos leaving the pink thing untouched, or should I really worry about this one and change it for another one?

    Hi Nick,

I have the same laptop, and same problem with you. I am looking for an answer for this question. I reviewed the three links you shared, and also read the comments of people in youtube videos. It seems there is no solid answer or method to it. Hope someone will answer to us :)

Those are melted thermal pads. You need to replace with new thermal pads :)

No way the are melted thermal pads lol. I bought nitro 7 few days ago, and i knew nitro and predators have thermal issues so first thing i did was repasting after starting laptop. They are just different kind of thermal paste that acer user for vrams.

    Hi nick,
I'll tell you what i did and what worked for me.
I didn't had any heating problems in my gpu tho. Its 1660ti. My laptop is nitro 7 with i5 93000H
But my cpu temps were insanely high, playing games mean they would always sit above 90 and often reaches 95C
Solution for me was repasting just the main gpu chip and main cpu chip with krayonaut, ideal temps are 40-45C now and max temps are always below 90C for cpu.
For GPU it was already cool but still the temps were reduced by 5C after repasting, so my gpu currently reaches 70C max even after 4-5 hours of gaming. Ideal gpu temps are 40-45.
Also i live in india so summers are pretty hot here.

NickSP  wytzzmf ofsanli   the pink paste its a special thick thermal paste used as thermal pads do not replace it with thermal pads as the thickness will not be the same so you will have thermal issues as the diodes will not be able to transfer the heat to the heatsink properly look for K5 pro its a similar paste used on vram chips
