As the title states,

Im interested in purchasing an external Monitor for FPS Competitive gameplay. I currently own a PH317-53-77X3. I play Warzone and Fortnite currently. Should i opt for a G-sync monitor? Where am i capped with this 2070 max-q card as far as refresh rates and Display hz. What is your recommended monitor for highest Frame Rates, Fastest response times, most user-friendly, and readily future proofed for say 6-12 months lol. If thats even a thing today... Also, not sure which ports to use and such and all related information is respected and warranted.

Thank You!

    Good evening SCADA_ROGUE !

In fact, everything will depend on the HDMi and mini DP port versions of your equipment.
    Do you know the versions?

I have the same Acer Predator laptop model PH317-53 with the same RTX 2070 Max-Q video card, and I'm looking for a monitor also. If you look up the specifications for this laptop in the manual that came with the laptop or download the manual from Acer, you will see it offer an HDMI and Mini DisplayPort, and the later is a faster connection, but it does not specify if the DisplayPort is version 1.2, 1.3, or 1.4.

Version 1.4 can support a transfer speed of 32.4Gbs to allow 4K resolution at up to 240Hz. It's difficult to find a 240Mhz, 1440P, 1ms, g-sync 24" or 27" monitor with a DisplayPort version 1.4, but I can find some a 24" and 27" monitor with a DisplayPort of version 1.2, which can support speeds of 21.6Gbs to allow 1440P resolution at 144Mhz.

    I found a highly rated 24", 165H
    z, 1440P, 1ms, 1000: 1 contrast ratio, g-sync monitor from Dell for $380.
