maulikmakwana as i already explained above in order to work in proper dual channel mode you should forget your stock ram as its manufacturer oem ram its not easy to match exactly the same specs (unless you buy from someone used as these arent available for sale to the end user) you should get a dual channel set for the best performance either hyperx or vengeance as i already stated above but if you just want to keep the stock and add another you have to match the exact same specs size/clock/CL and preferably brand check it on cpuz and get a matching sodimm good luck

I found the answer that with this laptop 8GB DDR4 single rank ram already install so for save money and get perform and get dual-channel, buy 8GB same speed single rank ram and all will be good, now my ram in dual channel and 16GB ram, and temperature go down speed up, and FPS up.

maulikmakwana you should always use a proper dual channel sodimm set this means 2 sodimms matching the exact same size/clock/CL and preferably brand in order to get the best performance i always advise to forget the manufacturers stock ram and buy a proper set either hyperx or vengeance 2400 for 7th gen and ryzen or 2666 for 8th and 9th gen and up to 2933 max for 10th gen please accept the answer(s) that helped you best with your question/issue in order to mark the thread as solved so anyone else with similar would be able to find it more quickly good luck :)

Also do not confuse single rank with dual rank sodimms with single and dual channel mode has nothing to do with it a single sodimm cannot work in dual channel but can be dual rank memory if it has chips on both sides for ex :)

in my laptop came with single-channel ddr4 8 GB 2666mhz ram exists, I want to add new 8 GB dual-channel 2666mhz ram in the second slot, can it will be work or not, maybe I am not explaining question properly.
so this is the question, what happens if I use both types of ram in the laptop in different slots?
