I know a similar question has already been asked and answered, but it wasn't for a 73N6, and I believe the inside of my computer is different, so I'm lost when it comes to what could be loose.

The history:

Was at Acer at the beginning of the year for the deal where it wouldn't charge and needed to be plugged in to run. They replaced the battery. It worked for two weeks, but then stopped running off of the battery again. Of course, that was just as the warranty ran out.

As soon as it was returned, I was having the buzzing sound through my speakers, and I used the online fix of disabling my front speakers. Worked like a charm, and it even began charging and running off of the battery again. Woo hoo!

It's been doing the thing when the screen doesn't come on after using the HDMI cord, so while I was messing with it, I ran check disk and all that jazz, cleaning up the hard drive. Worked fine the rest of the evening. Then I shut it down last night. I went to turn it on today, and the red, triangle power light comes on, as does the battery (full red, no longer charging) and the lightbulb to the far right. No hard drive action.

I did the battery reset, and when I tried turning it on without the cord, the power button lit up. But it went off after a few seconds. Can something like the "spring" others talk about be jiggled and stopping my machine as a safety measure? Or is it the hard drive? There has been no indication that the hard drive was an issue.

I've attached a photo of the inside of my machine, without the hard drive because you have to disconnect it to open. Any help would be appreciated!

Update! The hard drive works. I used my USB SATA jumper to check it on my other computer, and it fires up immediately. So, it's definitely an electrical issue. Thanks!!

Well, while I'm solving my own problem, I took it apart again, unplugged everything and disconnected the memory, battery and round battery thing and hard drive and reset. And... it turned on! So. There you go. If anyone else runs into this issue, it at least worked for a day!

I'm still super interested in help. Despite what I did to get it started, when I shut it down, it was in the same state again when it was time to turn it back on. A guy just came by to check it out for me, but I'm wondering what happens when the cmos battery dies. Could it be something as simple as that causing my issue? Or do you think it's the motherboard, in which case I'm screwed since they cannot be found anymore? I'll just keep talking to myself until someone answers me. :-)

Well, the computer dude I "hired" did no research into the machine because he was so verklempt over the stripped screws and a crack in the case that he found it all too much for him to handle. That was ... unique. So, I'm back to my own devices. And hoping someone here will chime in!
