Hello everyone, I have acer, nitro 5 ryzen 3550h with rx560x gpu. Its been a year since I bought the lappy. I ve been facing serious issues like games are lagging a lot. Few days back I even applied thermal paste as well but still overheating and lagging still ocures. I also updated my bios, gpu driver to adrenaline 20. 8.02. Even games like medal of honor warfighter is lagging even after low settings. Plz help.

If your temperature is going more then 89degree C then their will we thermal throttling.
Did you apply thermal paste correctly?
You only need to apply a small amount — roughly the size of a grain of rice or a pea — onto the center of the integrated heat spreader.
May be you try to ensure that you have enough paste applied to cover the entire area of the CPU, it's more than likely that you'll end up with too much paste. This negatively impacts performance because excessive paste ends up impeding efficient heat transfer.

If you do not leave enough of a gap between the edge of the CPU and the end points on your line, you also risk having the paste squeeze out of the sides once you have secured the cooler. Not only does this make an unnecessary mess, but if you happen to be using an electrically conductive paste

Did you clean fans and air vents?

If no then go ahead apply thermal paste correctly and clean fans/air vents

@GAMING6698 i took my laptop to the service center shop and I closely observed that he applied the paste very well. He even cleaned the fans and the entire laptop. But when I came back home its still stuttering. The thing is fps is stable, even gta 5 in ultra settings giving 50 to 55 fps which is good but every 10 seconds their is a stuttering for some seconds. I don't know what it is causing. Medal of honor warfighter is also runing at 68 to 70 fps but time to time their a sudden stuttering. I even checked the cpu temp its 85 °c to 89 °c. I think it's throttling even after reapllied of thermal paste. So what's your take now what should i do? Do you think my processor is dammed or what.?

can you be more specific with stuttering?

@6kapserg well look when the laptop is in idle state everything is good, no heating and no throttling issues. When I play games no matter what settings I keep it stutter after few seconds . Since the time when I updated my gpu driver this problem is occurring. I even degraded the driver still I am facing sudden stuttering.
