If this happened suddenly for no apparent reason, turn the laptop completely off. Remove charger. Look for a pinhole with a battery symbol on the bottom cover. Gently insert paperciip into the hole for 10 seconds. Then let the machine rest for 15 mins. Then plug the charger back in  for another 15 mins. Then try to turn it back on. Jack E/NJ

Turn laptop completely off. Then turn it back on again and immediately start tapping the F2 key to enter the BIOS menu. In the  INFORMATION tab, do you see the model name & number of an HDD? If yes, go to the BIOS MAIN tab and make sure the D2D option is enabled. Then F10 to save settings and exit. Report back with results. Jack E/NJ

The D2D recovery is already enabled, but when I try to alt + f10, it won't work

OK. But did you see the HDD model and serial number listed in the BIOS INFO tab? Jack E/NJ

Yes. Your HDD isn't being detected. Turn the  laptop completely off. Remove charger. Remove 4 screws and HDD door on bottom. Remove another 4 screws on HDD module. Pull HDD tab to left remove HDD from its mainboard connector. Then push it back and re-seat the HDD into the connector. Repeat this re-seating procedure a few times to help clean the connector's metal contacts. Then put it back together and try starting it up again. Jack E/NJ

My HDD is being detected but the method doesn't work, do you have another solution?

Hi! I have the same issue. I already did what you told to him. Still, it doesn’t work. What else should I do?

This thread is more than a year old. It would be helpful & best for you to post your own thread including your full model number. Jack E/NJ
