When opening the camera app I was shown a black screen and an error code that read "0xa00f4244 <NoCamerasAreAttached>".

Solutions attempted:
1. Windows App Troubleshooting-No issue found.
2. Driver update through settings-No camera driver update found but still restarted the computer after all updates had been installed with no change.
3. Device Manager Update Driver/Reroll Driver/Uninstall and Reinstall driver-Camera is not under any section including imaging(Which isn't there)and sound, video, and controllers.
Also in the device manager, I checked hidden devices and legacy hardware neither had the camera driver. So I couldn't update/reroll/or uninstall/reinstall.
4. DxDiag under "Window + R key"  shows I have 0 Video Capture Devices available
5. Went to the Acer Support site to download the driver directly from the manufacturer however they had no drivers available for my model.
6. Tried third party apps 1 from Microsoft store ad the other from a trusted website both showed a black screen after opening and saying the camera is not available which shows my camera is the problem not the apps.

After many promising solutions failing I'm some that can fix this issue ASAP.
After searching online for a few days I realized many people have had this problem over the years (2018-present) with no avail i.e. the camera is not in the device manager, there is no driver update from acer e.t.c. If anything I'll have to contact Acer support directly as the problem seems to be hardware.

Additional Notes:
The laptop is less than 1-year old(Approx 9 months).
Camera used to work and worked a while after purchase
Stopped working early may well after windows 10 update but that may still be the problem.

Thanks in advance for your assistance and patience Acer community!!!

Forgot to add: checked privacy settings and apps are allowed to use the camera.

I am having same issue and have had my Aspire 5 about as long - maybe a little longer.  Have you gotten any updates or resolutions?

You could try to boot your laptop from USB that has installed Linux OS and test camera. Just to see what happend. If same problem is present, need to sent your laptop to authorized center service.
