I spilled plain black coffee on my Helios 500 a while ago so the battery shows 225% available and plugged in but it only works when it is on the charger. Nothing else is giving trouble except the batter/power. When I plug it in the light flashes purple before turning orange, after a few seconds there is no light at all (should be blue when fully charged). Under hardware and maintenance it shows that there is no battery present. I haven't tried anything other than opening and removing the battery, and plugging it back in; as well as the 30 seconds power button reset, and the paper clip reset that were suggested on the internet. What exactly needs fixing/replacing?

xXArleanaXx most probably your battery is dead also showing 225% thats not possible lol check your battery wear with hwinfo or battery bar pro if more than 20% its faulty consider replacing also the coffer spillage might had affected your hardware to be faulty any spillages whatsoever should be properly cleaned asap by disconnecting the device and disassembling it completely to dry/clean everything properly in case of warranty the procedure its to contact support asap and send it back as i said any spillages even if they seem not had affected anything they might/will create serious hardware issues in the future also warranty will not cover any spillages nether broken parts cause by dropping/breaking due to poor user care thats considered self user damage no warranty will cover it on any manufacturer only way to get it cover its to pay for a private electronics insurance that would cover all risks  either way good luck

Thanks for your response but the IT guy at work said the battery is not dead, I initially thought it was the battery as well. He said it could have gotten damaged where the power feeds from the battery to the motherboard or a chip on the motherboard that got fried due to the spill... he could be wrong too. I will send it in to Acer to check and repair since it is still under warranty and I do not want to lose the little cover it does provide. I Appreciate that you took the time to respond  :3
