Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone could confirm if the Acer Nitro N50-600-EB16 PSU has a 6+2 pin connector.

I have included a photo I took of the wires I can see inside the Case.  Is that a 6+2 connector that I am seeing?  I do see a 6 pin and a 2 pin, so is that a 6+2 pin of the sort commonly required by GPUs?  And can I confirm that a 6+2 pin is the same as an 8pin required for GPUs.

That is a 6+2 connector for a gpu, just check if the oem Nitro N50-600-EB16 power supply is adequate for a gpu that you are replacing the oem gpu with.

Thanks.  Yes I am being careful not to exceed a recommended power supply of 500w, as 500w is the PSU this model has.  I take it that the plugs are shaped to be *****-proof and will only slide in the correct way?  I am a noob about these matters, so please forgive my lack of knowledge.

Yes the 6 pin can only slide/fit into the gpu pug a certain way as is the 2 pin afterwards, you can’t go wrong. With the PS make sure that you have a margin of at least 50% extra Watts as your Nitro N50-600-EB16 does need added power for other peripherals when you do play games and having a PS that is just adequate will cause troubles as most new gpu require 600W e.g. AMD Radeon™ RX 5xxx or NVIDIA RTX 20xx high end do, so don’t get caught out.

Thanks Steven.  Yes I am being careful about the power drain of the card.  I will be sure to keep it at around 50% as you say.  I've been careful to make sure the recommended PSU is 500w and no greater and that the power requirements of the card itself are in the range you suggest.
