Hello everyone, I have had a really frustrating weekend since I updated my windows and paid the ultimate price of having no audio, I have tried all options and fixes in the internet but I still have no audio. When I plug in my headphones audio is back but very low volume and distorted.  System is the Acer predator Triton 700 (Predator PT715-51)

MIAX007 uninstall/roll back the windows update that caused it and disable it from updating drivers/firmware or even completely windows updates tend to break everything so watch out and only update whatever u need when needed and manually as @egydiocoelho suggested  download the stock audio driver from acer support for your own model completely remove the current one(s) and install  the acer stock good luck :)

Everyone should learn from me lol. Don't update if everything is working. I already tried the above and also note some updates are permanent so am guessing that's why I still have the issue. Am thinking or reinstalling my OS all over again. Thank you for your suggestion
  • I advise you to reinstall windows by pressing alt + f10 before the acer logo.

MIAX007 im always advising that to everyone if its working fine dont try to break it lol also theres a pinned thread about how windows updates arent what they seem if u cant get it back working as @egydiocoelho suggested stock recovery clean install its your best option u should also grab a good 16gb usb drive sandisk for ex and create a stock recovery drive for safe keeping just search recovey on start menu  :)

    Same here.

Acer Predator 700. MS blocked the update from rollout due to issues with the hardware that they did not resolve, yet.

They now released the update for me 3 days ago and as many people on the net described, broke my realtek audio from being recognized.
Instead the device manager shows a broken Intel HD driver and DSP. Realtek sound chip is not even recognized anymore.

Tried all the workarounds, nothing worked. Noone has a solution so far. Pls work together with realtek and MS so we get a new and compatible driver.

I paid 3000€ for a laptop that now can not use hardware accelerated GPU scheduling, which is a feature only 2004 offers.

TimoFaust as usual most issues on windows are created by microsoft themselves plese dont blame the manufacturers for software issues as the stock software that was released with all models was tested and working properly any updates forced my windows its microsoft fault  thats why i have the updates completely disabled on all my devices use windows update blocker 1.5 or do it via regedit i have created my own reg files to enable/disable when i need to if you are having issue i suggest you go back to acer stock recovery clean install and disable the updates and any new features that ms releases they are just pffffff just completely ***** im still on 1809 on my H300 never had a single issue on 2+years and not moving on either my policy its if its working do not break it its simple :)  good luck

Also you say the great feature hardware accelerated gpu scheduling well this is the results ( testers noticed a gain between 1-2 frames per second) this is a fact so its another pffffff useless feature as i already said ppl should be more concerned with taking care of their privacy which microsoft has taken away on 1909/2004 its complete spyware stealing data dont forget they dont do nothing for free :p

As u can see below useless feature

Am so sorry to hear that. Does your laptop have the boot up predator sound because mine lost that too, which made me think it was a hardware issue. I tried running a live Linux mint boot and had no sound as well.

MIAX007 you can remove all updates that were installed recently near the date that your issue happened if that doesnt help a stock recovery clean install ALT+F10 on boot should solve it and everyone is having issues with microsoft updates even on desktops reminds me the time when they released 1803 (most prob the worst windows 10 ever) that deleted loads of personal files from loads of devices and what did microsoft did absolutely nothing as usual lol

And @TimoFaust has a Helios 700 not a Triton 700 they are completely different hardware :)

Microsoft uses us as their personal genie pigs to test their half build updates so that we don't go anywhere, I tried the stock recovery which did reset some functions that were lost (the onscreen Caps lock indicator) but it still landed me on the same version of windows that I had ironically.

MIAX007 exactly thats absolutely correct they do not test anything they send out and we have to suffer the consequences by reporting the issues for them to fix and yes unfortunately microsoft found a way to not let anyone downgrade as everytime you upgrade version the upgrade will overwrite the acer recovery to that same version so theres no way to go back unless you had previously created a usb stock recovery the day u booted the laptops the first time thats the only way to maintain the stock OS as thats the first thing everyone should do the first day they get the device of for ex if they upgrade the Os drive clone it and always keep the stock for safekeeping if something goes wrong

Also did you reset it by keeping your files or removing everything as if you keep your files it will probably not fix any major issues anyway a clean install deleting everything its always the way to go but backing up everything needed first to another drive

Am torn on waiting for the updates or actually doing a fresh install of windows, but that would mean I lose the acer recovery, as I have learned that a complete formatting of my hard drive is required. I can give it till the end of the month if they haven't fixed the issue am out hahaha

    Hello
I am experiencing the same issue of no sound for both speakers and headphones.  I am a newbie with this laptop.  I haven't owned a PC in over 10 years.  Trying to get back into it.  Now issues like this remind me why I just used tablets and such.
So should I just wait and check for a Windows Update daily?  No sound via laptop speakers or headphones.

Are you able to adjust the master volume bar to increase sound. I can see it's all the way down to zero in your case. Let me tell you for free that besides this sound issue this is the best laptop I have ever owned and I hope after the issue is solved you will enjoy the experience.
