It seems IMPOSSIBLE to change AND SAVE the settings of NON-game modes (Standard, Eco etc.).

If I enter in the Standard mode menu (for example), as soon as I make the MINIMAL variation THE MODE BECOMES THE USER ONE and I don't see how to return to the Standard mode to save new settings.

In fact I am NOT allowed to save the settings as Standard (see image), I can save only GAME settings. If I use Acer Display Widget if I change something in the Standard mode the displayed mode remains the Standard one (it does not become User as in the OSD), but when I press the Ok button and returns the main menu I find selected the User mode and the Standard one is exactly as before.  :#

That is correct, the builtin modes are fixed so they will always be the same. When you make any change that switches you to user mode, and you can save the user mode when things are to your liking. Unfortunately I don't believe they have the capability to set and save multiple user modes, so there's not a different user mode for each of the builtin modes.

I heartily thank you for the answer.
This news is one of the craziest I've heard in recent years!
The preset modes break my eyes and I can only recover one (in User-Mode).
IT DOES NOT MAKE SENSE !   :s
Had I known I would have bought an Asus.  :'(
The fact remains that, OSD aside, the XB253QGP  is a great monitor.
