Hi,
When I boot up the monitor the Acer logo and then the energy star logo fire right up. The signal from pc comes thru and the monitor works flawlessly... for 30 seconds to 30 minutes. The screen goes black (appears some level of backlight may still be on). Power light is blue and never changes color. Monitor is completely unresponsive (buttons dont work). The only way to get it out of this state is to physically unplug power and reboot. I believe it to be a hardware issue, but what part should I consider replacing or is it time to get a new monitor?

Thanks

I have a similar problem with an Acer P221W monitor. When I turn it on the Acer logo shows and then the signal from the PC comes through for about 2 seconds and then the screen goes black. If I turn it off and on again the same thing occurs. If I disconnect it from my computer and turn it on the logo shows and then the cable disconnected message shows for about the same two seconds. Turning it off and on just repeats the cable disconnected message for two seconds followed by a black screen with none of the buttons seeming to function. I've unplugged it and let it sit overnight before restoring power and had the same problem. My system is set up with multiple monitors and if I switch cables with the other Acer monitor the problem continues with the P221W monitor and the other monitor works fine with the cable that was originally plugged into the P221W.

Any ideas on what can be done to fix this or is it time for a new monitor?
